History

Past

For more than a century, Kazerooni’s family name has been associated with a wide range of food trade in the Kingdom of Bahrain. They were renowned for their pursuit to provide high-quality commodity products, which has enabled them to establish themselves as a prominent business in the Kingdom.

The history of Kazerooni family food trading traces back to 1905. At that time, the business was focused on the import and distribution of commodity products including spices and pulses. In order to maintain the high standard of distributed products, the company imported the best products from East Asia, India, Iran, Pakistan and China.

Expansion

In 1977, the business expanded to the production and grinding of spices by using traditional machines, in the old Manama Souq. At that time, the business relied on classic spices like turmeric, cumin, cardamom, and cinnamon.

In 1983, Al-Ameer Bottled Spices brand was introduced which included changing the packaging from bags to bottles, in order to provide convenience and maintain freshness of the products to the customers. A few years later, the establishment commenced the production of spices in its own factory in Salmabad Industrial Area, which used state-of-the-art machinery. The company’s constant ambition for expansion and diversity of its products has led to the introduction of new varieties of spices blends which were created to suit and improve the local dishes.
